India wins first test series in Australia:
The fourth and final test match between India and Australia resulted in a draw. Due to bad light and some rain, there was no play on day 5 which lead to a draw. As a result, India won the series 2-1 after 71 long years on the Australian soil. Virat Kohli became the first Indian captain to win a test series in Australia. It was said that this Indian team was the best which could win the test series in Australia. Kohli was seen getting emotional after the series win as it was in 2014-15 series against Australia where he got the test captaincy and the second time he came back here he won.
Coach Ravi Shastri said that this series win was bigger than 1983 World Cup win. In the interview, Kohli said that it was an honour for him to lead this best Indian side. The Indian fans in Sydney Cricket Ground were seen cheering and applauding the team after the win. The Indian team was seen dancing on the ground and hence, celebrating their victory against Australia. Sunil Gavaskar had tears in his eyes when he saw the team lift the trophy. It was indeed a terrific and unforgettable moment for Indian cricket. It was a perfect new year gift by the Indian team for the cricket fans.
