KL Rahul failed again as he was dismissed for a score of 9 in the morning session. Mayank Agarwal continued to impress everyone as he scored a brilliant knock of 77. Nathan Lyon got Agarwal out as he tried to hit a maximum but was caught at long on by Mitchell Starc.
The Indian captain Virat Kohli got a good start but couldn’t convert his innings to a big one and was dismissed for 23. Rahane scored 18 runs and got out by nicking the ball to the keeper. Australia could just pick up 4 wickets at the end of Day 1. Josh Hazlewood was the pick of the bowlers picking up 2 wickets. Pujara and Hanuma Vihari have put up a 75 run partnership and are still battling out there at the crease. India completely dominated day 1 as they scored 303 runs and lost just 4 wickets. Australia would be looking to bounce back on day 2 and dismiss them as soon as possible.
